Skateboarding is an action sport which involves riding and performing tricks using a skateboard. Skateboarding can also be considered a recreational activity, an art form, a job, or a method of transportation. Well, everybody already knows that.
When I was just a little kid, I always wanted to have a skateboard. For me, it's cool to have one, especially when you are riding it. Unfortunately, my parents were the conservative type so they didn't let me have one. As a kid, I remember watching The Simpsons where Bart was skating all over Springfield. Those were the times that I really wanted to have one. Growing up as a kid, skateboard was not popular in my hometown. There was no resources, no skateboarders so I gave up on having one. Time flies and it started to become popular in my hometown. More resources, more skateboarders. Guess what? No, I still didn't get one since I'm not the type that follows trend and I thought I'm done of wanting to have one. My frustration went to collecting skate shoes. I thought it's too late for me to skate.
Years later, around early 2011, I heard that my cousin was playing skateboard so I decided to have one again. One of the reasons why I didn't want to have skateboard anymore was because I don't have friends to play with. Since I thought I already have one that time, it gave me reason to get one, that's until my cousin's skateboard broke. He lost his interest on playing skateboard coz he's financially not capable of maintaining one. Poor me, I don't have someone to play with again, so I didn't get one.
Fortunately, because of this mini-cruiser, cruiser and long board craze, I had a friend that got into it. To cut the story short, yes, I got one now. Skateboarding is now one of my hobbies and I have the passion for it. Some of my family and relatives always tells me that I'm old for this shit but I don't give a damn. This is one of those things that I always wanted to do when I was just a little kid. I guess I'll never grow up until I have done all the things I wanted that I wasn't able to as a kid. It's like I'm looking for something lost, something from my childhood, maybe that’s why I never really matured.
